Obituary for Donald Avery Dimmick

Donald Avery  Dimmick
Donald Avery Dimmick , 63, of Curwensville died on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the Ridgeview Eldercare and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.

He was born on January 1, 1951 in Altoona, a son of the late Harold Dimmick and Arlene (Shaffer) Dimmick Prisk.

Mr. Dimmick was employed in the coal mining industry by McDonald's Coal Co. and had also worked for Guelich Explosives.
He was a member of Cherry Corner Bible Church, Grampian.

He is survived by his wife, Leah 'Mae' (Barrett) Dimmick whom he wed September 18, 1971 at the Cherry Corner Bible Church; two sons, Jason Dimmick and wife Talisa and Adam Dimmick, both of Curwensville; a granddaughter, Alanna; two step sisters, Helen Geisler and husband William of VA and Mona Lippert and husband Dave of Washington, DC; three step brothers, George Prisk of Curwensville, Don Prisk and wife Carla of Curwensville and Kenny Prisk and wife Patty of Curwensville; two brother-in-laws, John Barrett and wife Desiree of WY and David Barrett and wife Rhonda of Curwensville; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Grace Dimmick.

Funeral services will be held at the Cherry Corner Bible Church, Grampian on Sunday at 3:00 pm with Pastor George W. Solley officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.

Friends will be received at the church on Sunday from 1:30 PM - 3 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Cherry Corner Bible Church, 155 Nellie's Road, Grampian.
