Mildred S. Hanson , 91, of Clearfield died on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Clearfield Hospital.

She was born on August 27, 1922 in Clearfield, a son of the late Charles Burton Sr. and Ruth Avanel (Rowles) Thomas.

Mrs. Hanson was employed by the Riverside Bakery, Longs Dairy Store, Clearfield True Value and contracted with the Intermediate Unit, all of Clearfield. She enjoyed being a homemaker as she was an avid baker and cook. She also enjoyed working with ceramics. and was an active member and volunteer at the St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield.

She is survived by two children, John Hanson and Shirley Bezilla, both of Clearfield; two grandsons, Michael Bowers and wife Natalie of CA and Mark Bowers and companion Rae Kares of NC; and two great grandchildren, Ally and Parker Bowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen M. Thomas; and two brothers, C. Burton Jr. and Robert A. Thomas.

A memorial service will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 11:00 am with Rev. Robert J. Way and Rev. Susan J. Williamson officiating. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 10 AM - 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. John Lutheran Church, PO Box 1545, Clearfield.
