Obituary for Jeffrey S. Leigey
Jeffrey S. Leigey, 54, of Clearfield died on Monday, March 3, 2014 at his home.
He was born on January 6, 1960 in Clearfield, a son of the late Elwood and Delores (Dixon) Leigey.
Mr. Leigey was most recently employed at B and C Contracting, Clearfield and had also worked at Vince Centra Trucking, Curwensville and at Driggs in MD.
He was affiliated with Kerr Addition United Methodist Church, Clearfield and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812, Clearfield.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Gearhart) Leigey whom he wed January 13, 1978; three children Kristi Lawhead and husband Pascal, Brian Leigey and fiance Summer Haag and Tabatha Lewis and husband James Jr., all of Clearfield; five grandchildren, Alexis Lawhead, Riley Lewis, Savannah Lewis, Parker Leigey and Elijah Haag; two sisters, Mary Luzier of DuBois and Irene Forrest and husband Thomas of Clearfield; two brothers, Elwood Leigey Jr. and wife Kathy of West Decatur and Richard 'Dick' Leigey and wife Sherrill of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Glenn and Kathryn Gearhart; his sister, Linda Johnson; and his brother-in-law, Thomas Gearhart.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday at 7:00 PM with Rev. Mark S. Brower officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 PM - 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
