Florence R. Homer, 88, of Clearfield died on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Christ the King Manor, DuBois.

She was born on June 27, 1925 in Barnesboro, a daughter of the late Gust and Mary Pauline (Hayes) Byrnes.

Mrs. Homer was a homemaker and took pride in raising her family. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.

She is survived by seven children, Robert L. Homer and wife Barbara of Clearfield, Cathy Homer and husband Mike Mahalko of Strongstown, James Homer and wife Barbara of Indiana, Rick Homer and wife Gail of DuBois, David Homer and wife Marie of Cherry Tree, Patricia Elias and husband George of Northern Cambria and Ronald Homer and wife Donna of Indiana; nineteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; and three sisters, Leona Byers of Pennsylvania Furnace, Carolyn Ellis of Upper St. Clair and Norma Mazurak of Northern Cambria.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert P. Homer on April 1, 1997 and whom she wed September 11, 1948 in Barnesboro. She was also preceded in death by and infant twin son and daughter; and a sister Mary Ida Bohm.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at Christ the King Manor, DuBois on Tuesday at 10:30 AM with Fr. Matius Quimno as celebrant. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Spangler.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Monday from 3-6 PM and at Christ the King Manor, DuBois on Tuesday from 9-10:30 AM.
