Obituary for James R. Catherman Jr.

James R. 'Jim' Catherman Jr., 54, of Clearfield died on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Pawley's Island, SC.

He was born on September 22, 1959 in Clearfield, a son of James R. Catherman, Sr. and Carol (Nelson) Catherman of Clearfield.

Jim owned and operated J&E Plumbing and Heating, Inc. of Clearfield.

He was currently serving as the exalted ruler of the Clearfield Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540. Jim was also a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield, the Punxsutawney Hunting Club, the Old Town Sportsmen's Club and the Son's of Italy Lodge #189, Clearfield. Jim loved going to camp, riding his snowmobile and his pontoon boat. He also enjoyed golfing.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Tami S. (Thomas) Catherman whom he wed October 15, 1977 in Clearfield; three sons, James R. 'Jas' Catherman III and wife Kathy of Clearfield, Jeremy R. Catherman and wife Erin of Treasure Lake and Tanner J. Catherman and wife Kristen of Clearfield; two brothers, Edward Catherman and wife Susan of Clearfield and David Catherman and wife Kimberly of Clearfield; and several nieces and nephews.

A public memorial service will be held at The Presbyterian Church, Clearfield on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 2:30 PM.

Interment was in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540, 301 North Second Street, Clearfield or to the charity of one's choice.
