Obituary for Evelyn D. McCoy (Caldwell)

Evelyn D.  McCoy (Caldwell)
Evelyn D. McCoy, 97, of Clearfield died on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.

She was born on June 30, 1917 in Asheville, NC, a daughter of the late Lonnie W. and Bessie (Brown) Caldwell.

Mrs. McCoy retired in 1979 from the former Marjax Industries of Curwensville. She had also cooked and tended to various people and groups around the area. Mrs. McCoy took special joy in caring for her family.
She was a member of former Allen AME Church of Clearfield and a past member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by three sons, Ronald McCoy, Leslie McCoy and Geoffrey McCoy, all of Clearfield; eleven grandchildren, Stephanie Siedel, Simmone Price, Erica McCoy, Eric McCoy Jr., Aaron McCoy, Namon McCloe, Robert S. Hall, Marcus McCoy, Darnell McCoy, Jilynn Salter and Dyna Aughenbaugh; several great grandchildren; a brother, Calvin Caldwell of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mac McCoy Jr. on April 23, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her son, Eric McCoy; five sisters, Ruth Washington, Lorraine Jeffries, Artis Caldwell, Henrietta Enoch and Vermell Plato; and three brothers, Gerald, Lonnie and James Caldwell.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Pastor Robert F. Henry officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 pm and on Wednesday from 10-11 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second Street, Clearfield.
