Condolences

Condolence From: Marshall Vernon
Condolence: Steve was a very smart and interesting person. He was the one who got me interested in archery while he and my mom lived in Apple Valley. We went to several tournaments throughout the years, spent hours driving his Jeep through the forest, shooting at the range, tearing the roof off of houses, riding his motorcycles, and just generally having a good time. I lost track of him after he and my mom divorced and often wondered how he was doing. It is very sad he is gone.

Condolence: Steve, it's not going to be the same Vienna sausage experience for any of us without you here. (Josie would most certainly agree.) Thank you for being the very best of friends to our family. We love and miss you very much, and we will never forget you.

Condolence: Our heart and prayers go out to the Keiser family and all the friends and people who knew Steve. Steve was a good friend, neighbor and archery buddy. We had many laughs and conversations across the fence and enjoyed having Steve over. We miss you Steve.

Condolence From: Kandee McKinley
Condolence: Under his mountain man exterior, Steve was an intelligent, giving, gentle man who was always willing to share his knowledge and talents with others-- in a patient, caring & considerate, yet very humorous way. Those closest to him knew he was an accomplished musician, archer, outdoorsman, fisherman, writer, rescue animal activist, roofer, builder, woodworker, cook, plus a few other attributes I’m sure I’m forgetting here. I’m not sure there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do, even though he made light of all his accomplishments, even his Air Force military service. He’d give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He loved all animals, and I’ll never forget him making a tiny outdoor house for my feral kitty he named Barney—because he said he’d make a good “barn cat”. His beloved German shepherd rescue dog “Josie”, named after Josey Wales, in the movie, The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976), was loved by him more than anything on earth. What a lucky pup! Whether in PA or CA, we, his closest friends, just thought he’d always be around, for advice or a favor, or just to have some laughs with. Our assumption was wrong and he was taken way too soon from us. Steve, you are missed and loved, and I will always feel lucky I was able to call you one of my best friends. Besides, I’ll be telling funny “Steve Stories” for years to come! Kandee McKinley, Apple Valley, CA.
