Thank you Lord for the impact that Sister Therese had in our lives through her faithful retreat ministry at Mt Saviour's Monastery in Pine City, NY. We were both personally touched by her sensitivity of the spirit, insights into the Word of God and ability to lead those on retreat into a deeper place in God. Some of our most cherished memories were experienced with her on retreat. Thank you, God. See you in heaven, Sister!

Out of faith in the risen Jesus a new community of people is born, seeking to be united in one mind and spirit with Him. (This Land is Home to Me) Sister Therese was and remains an exceptional example of faith, hope and love for us all.

Sr Therese, So sad. You were a woman of wisdom, warmth and wit. Bethany always felt like home when I came there for retreats. You will be missed but we know you are not far, your prayer still echoes in our hearts. Sympathy to all of us who miss her.

I praise the day that I was blessed to meet Sister Therese through her cousin (which is my husband, Jim). Sister was always there for my family and me in times of need to listen and help even when she was probably extremely tired and busy herself. She taught me how to pray and I cherish the prayer retreats that I have experienced and will continue to experience with the other wonderful Sisters, Father Phil and Nicole. Bethany is our family's "Peace on Earth". We will celebrate Sister Therese's goodness and love for everyone for the rest of our lives. Til we meet again, thank you Sister!

Sister Therese: You were a candle who's light shined wherever you were; It was never hidden under a bushel. Ben

We remember her love for God. We celebrate her love for us. We believe in the Easter Mysteries she taught. This is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad that Sr. Therese is celebrating in heaven.

Sr. Therese was the first religious Sister that I really had an opportunity to know personally. I was 15 years old the first time I went to the Vanceburg mission and had what I call my first experience of LIVING faith. All I'd learned from my family and in my years of religious education, that was in my intellect only, went to my heart that week, and started me on a beautiful spiritual journey that continues to the present. Sr. Therese was an important support to me in the mid-80's when I called her out of the blue to see if I could come to spend a few days to pray at the mission, because of a very difficult situation I was facing. She was SO kind on the other end of the phone, and then so helpful when I arrived and could explain what was happening. A few years later I ended up in Altoona for training, and I am grateful for the ongoing friendship that the Lord provided for us, during the 20 years I lived in Altoona before I entered religious life myself. The wonderful Holy Weeks of the late 1980's, "Extended Anawim Work Weekends", Blueberry Festivals and overnight stays following the Free Clinic Board Meetings allowed for sharing that I treasure. My last visit with Sr. Therese and the other Anawim sisters was in June, 2013, when I was home from France and had to bury my mother. Sr. Therese, ever the spiritual mother, realized that although she couldn't bring my mother back, she COULD pray for her, and before I left the following morning, she arranged for Fr. Phil to celebrate Mass for the repose of my mother's soul. What better way to ease my sorrow! Sr. Ruth Ann, Sr. Suzanne, and Sr. Karen, as well as Joe and Sr. Therese's extended family - be assured of my prayers for her and for YOU, who feel most keenly the absence of such a beautiful woman. Her legacy lives on, though, through the Caritas Mission and all the people she touched during her life on this earth. May she rest in peace.

Therese loved me, it's how she taught me to Center. Give what you can to Bethany, with her gone, it will be a different place. She'll be everywhere.

Sr. Therese was a warm and inspiring nun. she dedicated her life to helping others. We both benefitted from receiving her many generous blessings. I learned a lot from her and could have listened to her speak for hours. She will be greatly missed. I know she is in Heaven right now with her holy Father. God bless you Sr. Therese.

There are no words that can describe the impact Sister Therese has had on my life and my relationship with God. I am so grateful to have known her and experienced her love of people. She will be greatly missed but I rest assured that she lives on in so many of us who carry a piece of her in our hearts and in our actions. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone she left behind who love her!
