Obituary for Charles R. Welker

Charles R.  Welker
Charles R. 'Chuck' Welker, 68, of Julian, formerly of Clearfield, died on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

He was born on March 25, 1947 in Clearfield, a son of the late Luther M. and Blanche A. (Coudriet) Welker.

He was employed for many years and retired from Piper Aircraft in Quehanna. He then worked for Montgomery Ward in DuBois.
He was a member of Martha's United Methodist Church, Julian. He was a proud US Navy veteran, having served his country during the Vietnam War. A life long learner, Chuck enjoyed traveling and seeing new places. During his travels, he had a great fondness of shopping for antiques and visiting yard sales. He also greatly enjoyed fishing, whenever possible. He loved his beagles, shelties and most of all his family.

He is survived by his wife, Linda (Gasparovic) Welker whom he wed May 28, 1994; a son, Deane Welker and wife Naomi of Clearfield; a brother, Terry Welker and wife Susan of Clearfield; a sister, Kathy Leigh and husband Bruce of TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Ann Kelly.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Rev. Daniel M. Osterhout officiating. Interment will follow in the Williams Cemetery, Julian.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9-11 AM.
