Obituary for Joseph H. Lengfellner

Joseph H.  Lengfellner
Joseph H. Lengfellner, 89, of Clearfield died on Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Penn Highlands Clearfield.

He was born on September 27, 1926 in Altoona, a son of the late Ludwig and Bertha (Karl) Lengfellner.

Mr. Lengfellner was employed by the PA Railroad, Penn Central Railroad and Conrail, retiring as a supervisor in 1986 after 43 years of service. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield where he served as a hospitality minister. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Clearfield Council No. 409, the F. Michael Sicks Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1785, the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6, and the Bavarian Aid Society of Altoona.
Mr. Lengfellner served with the U. S. Army during WWII.

He is survived by his wife, Hilda (Eder) Lengfellner whom he wed June 29, 1946 at St. Mary's Church, Altoona; two children, Joseph Lengfellner of Jacksonville, FL and Linda Robinson and husband Howard of Bradenton, FL; eight grandchildren, Joseph, Melissa, Justin, Joseph, Joshua, Jenna, Jason and Jessica; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Frances Goaziou and Catherine Muhlbauer; and a brother, Louis Lengfellner.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Thursday at 10:30 AM with Father John Miller as celebrant. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Altoona.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday from 5-8 PM and on Thursday from 9:30-10 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield or to the American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second Street, Clearfield.
