Obituary for William A. "Bill" Narehood

William A. "Bill"  Narehood
William A. 'Bill' Narehood , 84

of Karthaus died on Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

He was born on August 24, 1931 in Pottersdale, a son of the late Blanchard and Lena (Pitts) Narehood.

Mr. Narehood retired from the RS Carlin Coal Co. where he was employed as a drag line operator. He previously worked for Philip Reese Coal Co.
He was the caretaker of the Ganoe Cemetery for many years. He was avid hunter and loved horses. He enjoyed wood crafting and raising his honey bees in his apple orchard.

He is survived by his wife, Mary T. (Schultz) Narehood whom he wed June 24, 1950 in Frenchville; four children William G. Narehood and wife Sue of Bellefonte, Charles B. Narehood and wife Janet of Karthaus, Michelle J. Bamat and husband Scott of Karthaus, Michael S. Narehood and wife Michele of Karthaus; eleven grandchildren, William M. Narehood, Laura Donovan, Janice Fletcher, Jessica Courtney, Katie Grasty, Adam Narehood, Abraham Narehood, David Narehood, Chase Bamat, Chad Bamat and Michael W. Narehood; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister and two brothers, Helen Paul of Karthaus, Carl Narehood and wife Carol of Karthaus, Robert Narehood and wife Sharon of Morrisdale; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Heichel and also her husband John; a brother-in-law, Ken Paul; and a sister-in-law, Letha Narehood.

Funeral services will be held at the Karthaus Community Alliance Church on Tuesday at 11 am with Pastor Daniel Beeman officiating. Interment will follow in the Ganoe Cemetery, Pottersdale.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Monday from 4-7 pm. Additional visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10-11 am.
