Obituary for Charles "Charlie" Rumfola Jr.

Charles "Charlie"  Rumfola Jr.
Charles 'Charlie' Rumfola Jr., 72, of Clearfield died on Friday, January 22, 2016 at the West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born on June 9, 1943 in Grampian, a son of the late Charles Rumfola Sr. and Margie (Hepburn) Rumfola Derrick.

Charlie retired from the Clearfield Area School District as a shipping and receiving clerk. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, vintage hot-rod cars and sports of all kinds. Above all, Charlie loved socializing with his friends and being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield. Charlie was also a member of the Clearfield Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540, the Clearfield American Legion as well as the Sons of Italy Club #189, Clearfield. Charlie served as a former member of Clearfield Borough Council and had served the United States in the Army.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne (Campbell) Rumfola whom he wed October 21, 1978; two children, Sam Rumfola and wife Tammy of Rock Hill, SC and Becky Schwartz of Hanover; five grandchildren, Alicen Schwartz, Sydney and Summer Rumfola and Nickolas and Andrew Long; and two sisters, Pat Swift and husband Barry and Mary Kay Semelsberger and husband David, both of Clearfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Franklin Rumfola, Sr.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Wednesday at 10 AM with Father John L. Miller as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday from 4-7 PM and Wednesday from 9-9:30 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Orphans of the Storm, c/o Peggy Sass, 223 Hill Street, Curwensville, PA 16833 or to the Hahne Cancer Center, ATTN: Chemotherapy Lab, 100 Hospital Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801.
