She was a charter member of the BJW (Bigler, Jackson, Woodland) Ladies Auxiliary, and worked for the Easter Seal Society in charge of buying gifts for kids at Christmas. After raising her children, Nina also provided care for several elderly residents in the Clearfield area. Last but not least, she volunteered at her children's school lunch programs and led many Cub Scout and Girl Scout Troops.

She is survived by her husband, Ward H. McCracken whom she wed January 31, 1950 in St. Francis Church, Clearfield; eleven children, Ward H. McCracken, Jr. and wife Tina of Erie, David 'Mike' McCracken and wife Verlee of Woodland, Carolyn Schenk and husband John of Clearfield, Nina 'Wezie' Adams and husband Ted of Clearfield, Edward McCracken and wife Carolyn of Jackson, CA, Chris McCracken and wife Tracey of Curwensville, Joan Castillo of Clearfield, Amy Larson and husband Tom of Philipsburg, Kevin McCracken of Wellsboro, Eric McCracken and wife Beth of Clearfield; twenty nine grandchildren, twenty seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Barb Ruffner of Buffalo, NY and numerous nieces and nephews.
