Obituary for Walter R. Kulp

Walter R.  Kulp
Walter R. Kulp, 90, of Clearfield died on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

He was born on January 16, 1926 in Philipsburg, a son of the late Richard and Ethel (Rogers) Kulp.

Mr. Kulp retired in 1983 after 25 years as a meat cutter manager at the former Riverside Market. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II.
He was a member of Philipsburg Baptist Church and also a member of the Clearfield American Legion.

He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Duffee and husband Michael of Clearfield; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. (Smeal) Kulp on July 7, 2006 and whom he wed in 1950 at the Philipsburg Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Della Shimmel, Ruth Andrews and Edna Martin; and five brothers, Daniel, George, Joe, John and Carl Kulp.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 1 PM with Rev. Joseph Rohrbacker officiating. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 11 AM- 1 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Heart Association, 501 Howard Avenue, Suite D. Altoona, PA 16601 or to the American Cancer Society 26 S. Second Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
