Obituary for Betty Z. Wise (Straw)

Betty Z.  Wise (Straw)
Betty Z. Wise, 92, of Curwensville went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 5, 2016 at her home.

She was born on September 24, 1923 in Lumber City, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Virgie (Barrett) Straw.

Mrs. Wise was employed at J.C. Penney in Altoona before moving to Curwensville and was a member of Curwensville Alliance Church.

She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Wise whom she wed November 25, 1967 in Altoona; six children, Craig Litz and wife Janice of Curwensville, Jerry Litz and wife Susan of Louisville, KY, Robert D. 'Beau' Litz and wife Jeanne of Mahaffey, Edward Lee Litz and wife Carol of Curwensville, Paulette Lowe and husband Darold of Milroy and Janet McGarry and husband Timothy of DuBois; two step sons, Robert L. Wise Jr. and wife Sandra of Johnstown and Todd Wise of Virginia Beach, VA; twenty two grandchildren and step grandchildren; thirty seven great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; a sister, Beverly DeLeon of Topeka, KS; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul A. Litz in 1973; a grandson Bradley E. Litz; a great grandson Brandon Alexander; a brother, James Straw; and a sister, Margaret 'Peggy' Straw Ricotta.

Funeral services will be held at the Curwensville Alliance Church on Wednesday at 11 AM with Rev. Stephen D. Shields officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.

Friends will be received at the Curwensville Alliance Church on Tuesday from 4-7 PM and on Wednesday from 10-11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family strongly encourages memorial contributions be made in Betty's memory to one of the following: Curwensville Alliance Church, 725 Susquehanna Ave, Curwensville; Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospice, PO Box 992, Clearfield; or to the CCAAA, Attn: Meals on Wheels, PO Box 550, Clearfield.
