Obituary for Gordon W. Kerin

Gordon W.  Kerin
Gordon William 'Gordie' Kerin, 72, of Clearfield passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh.

He was born on July 6, 1943 in Clearfield, a son of the late John F. 'Baldy' and Faye N. (Peters) Kerin.

Gordie graduated from Clearfield High School in 1965. After graduation, Gordon enlisted in the United States Navy and served in Vietnam aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard.

Before his illness, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Gordon had a great sense of humor. He always had a story or joke to tell and you never left him without a smile on your face.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Petriskie) Kerin of Clearfield; two brothers and a sister, Jack Kerin and wife Jackie of CA, Joseph 'Jody' Kerin and wife Janet of Curwensville and Colleen 'Mickie' Kerin Bender; a son, James Kerin of Hyde; and two daughters, Robin Desmett and husband Mike of Woodland and Windy Heitsenrether and husband Ryan of Curwensville; two step daughters, Regina Billotte and husband Dennis of Frenchville and Allica Hutton and husband Ray of West Decatur; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Devan and Cheyenne Kerin, Casey Derrick, Maci and Broc Heitsenrether and Brandon Desmett; 4 step grandchildren, Tasha Gagnon and partner Michael Rose, Choneene and Jarrett Lancaste and Cheyenne Hutton; six great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond 'Bill' Burton Kerin; and his nephew, Christopher Kerin.

A private memorial service will be held at the family's convenience.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, 113 North Third Street, Clearfield.
