Obituary for Carmen A. Sturniolo

Carmen A.  Sturniolo
Carmen A. Sturniolo, 84, of Clearfield died on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at his home.

He was born on November 24, 1931 in Clearfield, a son of the late Anthony and Turi (Lamendola) Sturniolo.

Mr. Sturniolo retired in 1997 from St. Francis School and Church as a maintenance worker after 19 years of employment. He had also worked at Harbison Walker Refractory in Clearfield and Kent's Sportswear.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, the Sons of Italy #189 of Clearfield, the Clearfield American Legion , the Knights of Columbus Council #409 of Clearfield, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812 of Clearfield, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks #540 of Clearfield, the Old Town Sportsman's Club and the Mosquito Creek Sportsman's Club.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Sturniolo served during Korean War.

He is survived by his sister, Rose Jordan of CA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie (Tiracorda) Sturniolo on August 9, 2008 and whom he wed August 10, 1957 in Curwensville. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Samuel Sturniolo.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Wednesday at 10 AM with Father John L. Miller as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday from 6-8 PM and on Wednesday from 9-9:30 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Heart Association, 501 Howard Avenue, Suite D, Altoona, PA 16601.
