Obituary for Stella I. Conaway

Stella I. Conaway, 97

of Clearfield died on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

She was born on March 4, 1919 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Levi and Gussie (Hitchings) Ardery.

Mrs. Conaway was a homemaker. She was a very good cook, and was especially known for her homemade buns.

She is survived by three children, Judith King and husband Harry of Luthersburg, Ira Neal Conaway and wife Margaret of Clearfield, Dennis Conaway and wife Mary Beth of Shippenville; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Conaway on April 3, 1988 and whom she wed September 21, 1939 in Wallaceton. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Janet Graham; a son, Thomas Conaway; a granddaughter, Tracey Graham; a grandson, Thomas Neal Graham; sisters, Alberta Woods, Alice Gogley and Anna Ruth Hess and brothers, Glenn, James, Kenneth and Russell Ardery. She was the last member of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday at 12:00 PM with Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 am until the hour of the service.
