Obituary for Louis J. Hayward

Louis J.  Hayward
Louis J. Hayward, 84, of Clearfield died on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

He was born on January 10, 1932 in Brisbin, a son of the late Philip A. and Velma M. (Bowman) Hayward.

Mr. Hayward retired from Howe's Leather, Curwensville after 32 years of employment. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a skilled bowler, having won two state championships in the 1970's.
He was a member of Curwensville Alliance Church. A veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Hayward served with the US Army.

He is survived by his five children, Denise Millinder and husband Steve of West Decatur, Lisa Stephens and husband Emery of Shawville, Lori Hayward of Clearfield, Melissa Wisor and husband Jason F. of Woodland and Michael Hayward and wife Rebecca of DuBois; ten grandchildren, Heidi Shaw and husband Brian, Juliet Maines and husband Casey, Kylee Ralston, Todd Stephens and wife Melanie, Stacey Bumbarger and husband Fred, Derek Stiver, Corey Stiver, Ashley Wisor, Jacob Derek Holes and Kaya Paige Hayward; sixteen great grandchildren; four brothers, Norman, LeRoy, Ronald and Kenneth Hayward; and six sisters, LaRue Henderson, Phyllis Hayward, Velma Smith, Bernice Hayward, Donna Ogden and Sharon Owens.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Burnice Doris (Bloom) Hayward on October 26, 2015 and whom he wed August 30, 1969. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford and Richard Hayward.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday at 1 PM with Rev. Stephen D. Shields officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.

Military honors will be accorded at cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts Honor Guard.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 AM - 1 PM.
