Obituary for Sandra L. Malinich (Bambarger)

Sandra L.  Malinich (Bambarger)
Sandra L. Malinich, 70, of Hyde went to be with her Lord and Savior after a brief illness on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

She was born on December 19, 1945 in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Winfield and Ellen (Roach) Bambarger.

Sandy had most recently been an in-home care provider for the past six years. She had retired from Grice Gun Shop, Clearfield and had also previously been employed at Clearfield Hardware for five years. Sandy took great pride and enjoyed raising her family.
She was a member of Center Grove United Methodist Church. She was also involved with the Dog Kennel Club and a member of the Clearfield Hobby Garden Club. Sandy was the first female fire fighter at Hyde Fire Company Station #6 and a life member of the Hyde Fire Company and Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy J. Malinich whom she wed March 7, 1964 in Osceola Mills; three children, Sandra Miller and husband Dean of Milton, Jody L. Malinich of McClure, and Tammy Byerly and husband Rick of Clearfield; five grandchildren, Sarah Miller, Danielle Miller, Christopher Malinich, Amber Beichner and husband Brad, and Rebecca Oldt and husband Matt; two great grandchildren, Giovanni Malinich and Lydia Beichner; and four sisters, Cheryl Miller and husband Melvin of Osceola Mills, Joan Josefick and husband Bob of Grassflat, Nancy Harris and husband Greg of Osceola Mills and Amy Phillips of Osceola Mills.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11 AM.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 10-11 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Orphans of the Storm, c/o Peggy Sass, 223 Hill Street, Curwensville, or to the National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center, c/o CJD Research, Case Western Reserve University, 2085 Adelbert Road, Room 419, Cleveland, OH, 44106-4907.
