Obituary for Dennis J. 'Red' Swatsworth
Dennis J. 'Red' Swatsworth, 57, of Clearfield died on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the UPMC Altoona.
He was born on April 12, 1959 in Buffalo, NY a son of the late Ronald G. and Janet (Steine) Swatsworth.
Dennis was a retired truck driver and loved to watch NASCAR and football, especially the Buffalo Bills. He also enjoy shooting pool and was a member of the Clearfield Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812.
Dennis was a veteran of the US Marines Corps.
He is survived by five children, Richard Thompson and wife Karen of DE, Michael Thompson and wife Ann of MS, Karen Nice of DE, Bryan Evans and companion Dee of Clearfield and Shawn Evans of Clearfield; several grandchildren; two sisters, Debby St. John and husband Bob of DE and Laurie Gladfelter and husband Tom of Hyde; a brother, Brian Swatsworth of DE; and several nieces and nephews. He was also be missed by his beloved dog, Turbo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, RuthAnn (Kennedy) Swatsworth on November 25, 2014; and a brother, Ronald Swatsworth.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday at 11 AM with Sam Maines officiating. Interment will follow in the Bloomington Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9-11 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second Street, Clearfield.
