Obituary for Daniel P. "G.I." Witherow
Daniel P. 'G.I.' Witherow, 35, of Grampian died on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
He was born on November 14, 1981 in Clearfield, a son of Jerry and Lillian (Ferris) Witherow of Grampian.
G.I. was the Assistant Chief of the GPB Volunteer Fire Department. He was employed as a mechanic with Hugill Sanitation and also by Kratzer Run Sewer Authority. He had previously worked for Johnson Brothers Coal Co. and Ken Braniff Motors, Clearfield. G.I. enjoyed hunting and watching football, hockey and racing. More then anything else, G.I. was a very involved father and enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancé, Erin Baroni of Grampian; two children, Madalynn and Landon Witherow; a sister, Ann Palmeter and husband Dan of Clayton, NC; a niece, Kali Palmeter; a nephew, Liem Baroni; his in-laws, Amy Barrett of Curwensville and Rick Baroni of Rockton; three brothers-in-law, Kyle Baroni and wife Karson, Austin Barrett and Hunter Barrett, all of Curwensville; and numerous other family members.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Pastor Ron Emery officiating. Interment will follow in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Grampian.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3-7 PM and on Wednesday from 10-11 AM.
It is encouraged that in lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made on behalf of the children to Erin Baroni, c/o GPB Fire Company, PO Box C, Grampian, PA 16838.
