Ludovica H. "Dewey"  Accordino (Carella)
Ludovica H. 'Dewey' Accordino, 94, of Clearfield died on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

She was born on December 19, 1922 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Lorenzo and Silvia (Cipriani) Carella.

Mrs. Accordino was employed at many different businesses around the area, including the Clearfield Sons and Daughters of Italy and the Clearfield Curwensville Country Club. She was also member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.

Dewey adored her grandsons John and Dominic. Her devotion to them was unmatched. She was an integral part of both of their lives. She not only helped raise them, but she helped raise nieces, nephews, Godchildren and any neighborhood kid that came to her house.

Dewey was kind and giving. She opened her home, her arms and her heart to anyone and everyone. She always had a meal for anyone that came to her home and helped everyone she could. She had a lot of love to give and shared what little she had with anyone in need. She will be missed by all that got a chance to know her.

She is survived by her son, Nicholas S. Accordino, Jr. and wife Tracey of State College; four grandchildren, John Accordino, Dominic Accordino, Jade Utz and Dustin McCartin; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous grand nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas S. Accordino Sr. on April 13, 1957. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Sylvia Angeline Accordino; a foster son, Albert Joseph Buchko; and two brothers, Robert 'Abe' Carella and Carlo Carella.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Monday at 10 AM with Msgr. Henry L. Krebs as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Sunday from 2-5 PM and Monday from 9-9:30 AM.

A Christian Vigil service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 4:45 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-3678.
