Obituary for James A. Jones

James A.  Jones
James A. Jones, 78, of Clearfield died on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at his home.

He was born on October 1, 1939 in Clearfield, a son of the late Joseph R. and Mary Ellen (Conaway) Jones.

Mr. Jones worked for the Clearfield Municipality Authority Water Company as a foreman for 33 years before retiring in 1999. Previously he was employed by Louie Demi and Son's for 9 years as a plumber.
He was Baptist by faith and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also loved to tend to his garden.

He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly McGee of Clearfield and Tracy Snyder of Clearfield; six grandchildren, Nikki, Danny, Ashley, Brittany, Joseph and Megan; nine great grandchildren; and a sister Ruth V. Catino of Clearfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann (Wisor) Jones on August 3, 1999 and whom he wed February 3, 1961 in Clearfield. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Strong; a grandson, Matthew Burgess; a sister, Shirley Ann Nicholson; and three brothers, Edward, Joseph Jr., and Robert K. Jones.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday at 11 AM with Rev. Hiram Westover officiating.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 9-11 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to charity of one's choice.
