Frederick W. Aughenbaugh, 68, of Houtzdale, died on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.

He was born on August 4, 1950 in Clearfield, a son of the late Raymond and Florence 'Honey' Aughenbaugh.

Fred graduated Clearfield High School in 1968 and then moved to Lansing, MI where he was employed by General Motors. He then proudly served with the US Army and was injured in the line of duty. He was honorably discharged in 1972. Fred was known as a 'Mr. Fix it', being able to build anything from electronics, fixing cars and even building a robot. He was a member of numerous local military outposts throughout the area and was a honorary Sheriff's Deputy for Clearfield County.

He is survived by his son, Frederick B. Aughenbaugh and wife Stephanie of Clearfield; a granddaughter, Mazzy Aughenbaugh, the love of his life, Pamela Brock of Altoona; a sister, Rosella Smeal and husband Al of Houtzdale; and two brothers, Ernest S. Aughenbaugh and wife Rebecca of Saint Johns, MI and Robert W. Aughenbaugh of Glen Richey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward J. Aughenbaugh and Raymond James Aughenbaugh.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 11 AM. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 PM and on Saturday from 10-11 AM.
