Obituary for Ada Maxine Shimmel
Ada Maxine Shimmel, 90, of Philipsburg died on Monday, May 16, 2022 at the Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.
She was born on January 1, 1932 in Bigler, a daughter of the late Rueben and Mary (Williams) Smeal.
Maxine retired from Sears, Roebuck and Co. after 38 years of being a store auditor. In her free time, she enjoyed music.
She is survived by her son, Richard Stevens and wife Mary of Johnson City, TN; a grandson, Steven Williamson and wife Amy of Altoona; a granddaughter, Rebecca Mazoff and husband Damon of Johnson City, TN; four great-grandchildren, Gavin, Alex, Caleb, and Abigail; and two sisters, Sheila Wisor of Bigler and Rachael Smith of the Allport Cutoff.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard A. Stevens, Sr., and second husband, Raymond Shimmel.
Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 10 AM - 12 PM. The family asks that vistors wear a mask upon entering the building.
A private graveside service will be held at the family's convenience. Interment will be in the Bigler Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the donor's choice.
