Obituary for Anthony Nicholas Santinoceto

Anthony Nicholas 'Nin' Santinoceto, 85, of Clearfield died on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the Mountain Laurel Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

He was born on January 1, 1935 in Clearfield, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Curtorillo) Santinoceto.

Nin owned The In Between Bar in Clearfield from 1959-1979. He was then a clerk in the medical billing business in Wheeling, WV with his brother, Joe and son, Nick, from where he retired. He moved back to Clearfield in 2008.

He grew up and worked in the original Santinoceto's Italian Market on Daisy Street, and was a proud supporter of his son's reopening of the Santinoceto's Italian Market in 2016.

Nin was a member of Sons and Daughters of Italy, Clearfield; Clearfield Moose Lodge 97; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812, Clearfield; and was a former treasurer of the PA Taverns Association. He was also a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.

Mr. Santinoceto served with the U. S. Army and traveled extensively throughout Europe as a member of the U.S. Army Band.

He is survived by his son, Nicholas 'Nick' Santinoceto of Clearfield; two brothers, Ignatius J. Santinoceto and wife Rosemary of Carlisle, and brother, Joseph D. Santinoceto Jr. and wife Phyllis of Cape Charles, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carmen P. Santinoceto; and two sisters, Carmella Santinoceto, and Ann 'Nina' Santinoceto.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 3 PM. Interment will bein the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
