Obituary for Calvin P. Barrett

Calvin P. Barrett, 88, of Curwensville died on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at his home.

He was born on November 29, 1931 in Kerrmoor, a son of the late Perry and Sadie (Wiley) Barrett.

Mr. Barrett retired from the Hepburnia Coal Company. Previously, he had been employed at Bethlehem Steel in New York for twenty years.
He was a member of Curry Run United Methodist Church and also a member of the Curwensville VFW Post #842. Mr. Barrett served with the U. S. Army during Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Barrett whom he wed on August 30, 1986; eight children, C. Rodney Barrett and wife Barbara of Curwensville, Bruce Barrett and companion Dana of Curwensville, Nolene Lambert and companion Kevin of Orchard Park, NY, Calvin Barrett and companion Tabitha of Buffalo, NY, Lee Barrett of Woodstock, VA, Sheri Bawol and husband Rick of Fairview, Dawn Crawford and husband Rodney of East Aurora, NY; and Kim Hoescher and companion John of Clarion Center, NY; five step children, Sharon Campbell and husband Dale of Mahaffey, Glenna Witherite and husband Robert of Curwensville, Jerry Redden and wife Dottie of Mahaffey, Patti Bloom and husband Denny of Curwensville; and Duane Berg and wife Glennis of Hamburg, NY; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a brother, Denny Barrett of Clearfield; three sisters, Patricia Witherite, Ruth Witherite, and Carol Stiles; a sister-in-law, Viola Barrett of Curwensville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings, Elwood Barrett, Boyd Barrett, infant Ethel Barrett, Glenn 'Pete' Barrett, DeLane 'Toot' Barrett, and Yvonne 'Sis' Edgar; and a grandson, Bruce Keith Barrett.

Funeral services will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Curwensville on Saturday at 12 PM with Rev. Howard Lindsey officiating.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 AM until the time of services at noon.
