Obituary for Catherine E. Irwin (Bowers)
Catherine E. Irwin, 93, of Clearfield died on Friday, November 26, 2021 at the Mulberry Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Punxsutawney.
She was born on December 23, 1927 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Greydon Z. and Lonetia (Fray) Bowers.
Mrs. Irwin was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School, class of 1945. She was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield, enjoyed being a long time supporter of the Clearfield High School Band program.
She is survived by two children, Gail Jones and husband Ricky of Decatur, TX, and Randy Irwin and wife Celine of Port Saint Lucie, FL; three grandchildren, Jason Jones and wife Taylor of Midlothian, TX, Jonathan Jones and wife Courtney of Chico, TX, and Jennifer Jones of Dallas, TX; two great grandchildren, Kenzlie Stark and Hadley Jones; a brother, Rodney Bowers of Clearfield; and a sister, Alice Cowder of Santa Fe, NM.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin 'Bud' G. Irwin July of 2008. She was also preceded in death by sister, Rebecca Herdje.
In honor of Mrs. Irwin's wishes, there will be no services.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made payable to Clearfield Area High School Band and mailed to Clearfield Area High School, 2831 Washington Avenue, Clearfield, PA 16830.
