Obituary for Duane G. Johnston
Duane G. Johnston, 85, of Curwensville died on Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
He was born on October 22, 1935 in Curry Run, a son of the late Woodrow and Eunice (Tubbs) Johnston.
Duane was employed as an over the road mechanic for the former Clearfield Truck Rentals, which was later Rapid Ways, for 36 years. He enjoyed working on any vehicle, making homemade ice cream, gardening, taking pictures, and also was an accomplished artist. Mr. Johnston was a loving husband and great helper to his wife and best friend, Dorothy.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. (Snyder) Johnston; a son, Dennis Johnston of O'Shanter; sister-in-law, Laura Jean Johnston of Culpeper, VA; and three nieces and one nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Malcolm and Ronald Johnston.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery, Grampian.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the choice of the donor.
