Obituary for Duane Allen Rowles
Duane Allen Rowles, 87, of Clearfield Pa, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 24th, 2023.
Born June 27th, 1935 to the late Allen A. and Christine E. (Baughman) Rowles of Glen Richey.
On June 16th, 1962, Duane married Sibbie E. (Baer) Rowles and they enjoyed 60+ years of marriage.
Mr. Rowles is survived by his wife Sibbie, two sons, Gary (Patty) Rowles of Clearfield, Mark (Debbie) Rowles of Albemarle NC, his son-in-law Eid Nouhra of Lewes, De. and his sister Elaine Rowles of Glen Richey. He is also survived by 3 grand daughters, Allyn Rowles Smith, Addisen Rowles, and Cameron Nouhra as well as one grandson, Eid Nouhra.
Mr. Rowles was preceded in death by his daughter, Jane Ann Rowles Nouhra, who passed away in September of 2022.
Mr. Rowles was a US Army veteran, having served 2 years in Korea and 2 years active reserves. Upon leaving the Army, he worked at Kurtz Brothers in Clearfield for 42 years before retiring.
Duane was an avid hunter, fisherman, camper and bowler. He was also a faithful member of the Clearfield Creek Rifle and Pistol team, having competed for over 50 years. He enjoyed playing and watching most sports.
Mr. Rowles favorite place to go was Indian River in Delaware where he enjoyed camping, fishing and being by the ocean.
Duane was a faithful member of the Clearfield Christian and Missionary Alliance church, having held several offices over the years.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 1 at the Alliance church in Clearfield from 10 AM until 12 PM with the funeral beginning at 12 PM.
