Obituary for Elizabeth L. "Betty" Ritz (Swales)
Elizabeth L. 'Betty' Ritz, 79, of Clearfield, died on Monday, November 22, 2021 at her home.
She was born on September 30, 1942 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Jim and Margaret (Peters) Swales.
Mrs. Ritz retired as an administrative assistant for the Communication Workers of America Union, Washington DC, after 36 years of service. She then was employed at Immanuel's Church in Silver Springs, MD as an administrative assistant for four years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Curwensville and a former member of the Grampian Lions Club. She was a 1961 graduate of Curwensville Joint High School and then attended the Immanuel School of the Bible. She then graduated from Logos Christian College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biblical Studies.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Ritz; a son, James Graham and wife Tammy of Yakima, WA; five grandchildren, Jacqie Peebles, Carmen Adkins, Rosa Rodriguez, Tony Rodriguez, and Kaili Lockbeam; several great grandchildren; and two sisters, Grace Davis and husband Bill of Curwensville, and Martha Tozer and husband Jack of Curwensville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her first husband, Thomas Graham, Sr; and a daughter, Jaymie Rodriguez.
In honor of Betty's wishes, there will be no services at this time.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Curwensville First Baptist Church, PO Box 312, Curwensville, PA 16833.
