Obituary for Freda M. Holtmeyer (Maines)

Freda Mae Holtmeyer (Maines)

On April 6, 2023 Freda died peacefully at her home.

Beloved wife of 65 years to Raymond Holtmeyer; loving mother to Michael, Sandra (Dan), Cathleen, Brenda (Butch), and Raymond Thomas (Tammy); grandmother of seven, Jessica, Samantha, Zachary, Courtney, Forrest, Dakota, and Michael and their spouses, great grandmother of ten.

Freda was a lifelong homemaker. An Army wife, she safely shepherded her family across oceans and across the country many times. She loved to sew for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, making wedding dresses, doll clothes, and more. She loved growing things, and her home was full of blossoms and thriving plants. Her flower beds brightened the neighborhood for the more than forty-five years that she and Raymond lived on Ogden Ave.

A member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Freda, a convert, shared her faith with everyone, not just in word but in deed. Her faith in a loving God helped her to tackled the many challenges of her life. She is remembered fondly for her faith and strength of character.
