Obituary for Joseph James Sposito Jr.

Joseph James 'Joespo' Sposito Jr., 70, of Curwensville died on Monday, February 15, 2021 at his home.

He was born on August 4, 1950 in Spangler Pa, a son of the late Joseph and Janet (DiBratto) Sposito.

Joe graduated from Curwensville in 1968. He started out working as a surveyor with his father. One of his greatest accomplishments was making new maps after the eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980. He then became involved with the gas and oil industry, which took him to many places across the globe. After this, Joe became a consultant in the civil engineering industry for 35 years, and then retired in 2012.

In his retirement, gardening became one of his favorite things to do. He also enjoyed golf, motorcycling, playing pool, playing cards, gambling, and fast cars. Above all, he loved spending time with his daughter and granddaughter.

He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812, Clearfield; John Lewis Shade American Legion Post #6; Curwensville VFW; Curwensville Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #268.

Joe served with the U. S. Army National Guard from 1970-1976.

He is survived by his daughter, Brittany Sposito; granddaughter, Aubrianna Marie Sposito, and former wife, Linda Sposito, whom he wed on May 12, 1989. Also survived by best friend Bruce Fair his wife Marie amongst so many others; as his charm brought so many together.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Sposito; father Joseph Sposito Sr and an infant sister, Conjetta Sposito.

A celebration of life gathering will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles 812, Clearfield on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 2-4 PM.

Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield is in charge of the arrangements.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Shriners, American Cancer Society and family.
