Obituary for Kathryn E. Ogden (Ogden)
Kathryn E. 'Kate' Ogden, 94, of Clearfield died on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
She was born on March 9, 1924 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Philip M. and Marion (Womer) Ogden.
Miss Ogden retired in 1985 from the Clearfield Hospital where she worked in the kitchen. Prior to that, she was employed at the Clearfield Diner for 27 years. She also cooked at the soup kitchen at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield and volunteered for over 4500 hours at The Cottage gift shop in the Clearfield Hospital.
She is survived by her son, Daniel W. Ogden and wife Charlene of Palm Beach, FL; a granddaughter, Danielle Stephens and husband Clint of Curwensville; two great grandchildren, Isabelle and Wyatt Stephens; a sister, Phyllis Long and husband Robert of Belton, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Marie Ogden and Twila Ogden; and six brothers, Irvin, Clarence, Stewart, Warren, Lyle and James Ogden.
As per Miss Ogden's wishes, there will be no public services held.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to PAWS of Centre County, 1401 Trout Road, State College, PA 16801 or to the Trinity United Methodist Church, C/O Soup Kitchen Fund, 121 South Second Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
