Obituary for Margaret L. Hockenburry (Stock)
Margaret L. 'Peg' Hockenburry, 94, of Philipsburg died on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.
She was born on April 22, 1927 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Vincent and Margaret (Lynch) Stock.
Mrs. Hockenburry was employed as a manager at Whitman's Drug Store, Philipsburg and had also worked as a waitress at various eateries around the area.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.
She is survived by nine children, Charles R. Dixon and wife Peggy of Clearfield, Michael J. 'Mick' Dixon of Morrisdale, John 'Rick' Dixon and wife Jane of Wellsboro, Bonnie Yurky and husband Brian of Philipsburg, Patricia 'Patty' Quick and husband Richard of Blairsville, Fred A. Hockenburry Sr. and wife Kathleen of Philipsburg, Rita Gervasi of Savannah, GA, Deborah Maddas of Altoona, and Denise Cassanova of TX ; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Gerry Graham of Clearfield; and a brother, Ed Stock and wife Dallas of MD.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John A. Hockenburry on April 8, 2012 and whom she married on June 3, 1972; a grandson, John F. Hockenburry; two sisters Evelyn Gillen and Mary Jane Beatty; and a brother, John Stock.
Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 10 AM with Msgr. Henry Krebs as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Monday, February 7, 2022 from 4-7 PM and on Tuesday from 9-9:30 AM.
A Christian Vigil service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 3:45 PM and the Rosary will be recited on Monday at 6:30 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to SPCA, 275 21st Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
