Obituary for Mary Beth Bamat (Hoover)

Mary Beth Bamat, 65, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at her home in Karthaus. She was the devoted wife of Craig Bamat to whom she was married on June 5, 1982.
Mary Beth was born October 19, 1956, and was the daughter of the late Hugh Hoover and Mary Regina Peavy Hoover of Karthaus.
She graduated from West Branch Area High School in 1974. Following graduation, she was employed at the Department of Public Welfare, and the Clearfield County Public Defender’s Office. She married Craig Bamat of Karthaus in 1982 and had three children: Jonathan, Stefan and Laura. Later she served as teacher at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Preschool for ten years and then was employed as a Classroom Assistant for Cen Clear Child Services upon which she retired in 2020.
Mary Beth was active in her community and church. She was a Religious Education Coordinator at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frenchville for twenty years and President of The Karthaus Park Association for two terms. Her hobbies included traveling, reading and writing fiction stories.
Mary Beth is survived by her husband Craig, her three children Jonathan Bamat and his fiancé Mandee Rougeux of Blanchard, PA, Stefan Bamat of Frenchville, PA and Laura Bamat of Karthaus, PA and her boyfriend Nicholas Bolognese of Frenchville, PA. She is also survived by her siblings: Kathy Piper and her husband Wayne Piper of Karthaus, Rosemary Workman and her husband, Richard Workman of Clearfield, Michael Hoover of Karthaus, David Hoover and his wife Rose Marie Hoover of Clarence and Vicki Sabol and her husband, Mark of Morrisdale and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Monday from 4-7 PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Tuesday at 10 AM with Fr. Brandon Kleckner as celebrant. PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH FOR MASS.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at the St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery in Frenchville, PA
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Karthaus Volunteer Fire Co. of Karthaus, PA 16845; or to the Karthaus Ambulance Service of Karthaus, PA 16845.
