Obituary for Mary Ellen Hutton

“Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.” Proverbs 31, 29-30.

Our loving mother, Mary Ellen Hutton 88 departed this earthly life on July 4, 2022 at Mountain Laurel Nursing Home and spent her first moments in heaven unencumbered by the frailties of the body. Mom was born in Colver, PA on December 26, 1933 the only daughter of the late George and Bernice (Bolinger) Lambie. After graduation from Ebensburg High School she attended and graduated from Winber Hospital School Of Nursing class of 1954. She was employed as a registered nurse for the next 46 years.

Mom dedicated her life to serving the Lord, supporting her husband in all his endeavors and providing a loving, nurturing home for her family of eight. She was a wonderful seamstress, quilter and cook and could stretch any meal to feed those that our father would show up with, unannounced. When able she was actively involved in the functions of her church and was especially fond of her involvement in the Alliance Women of the Curwensville Alliance Church. She was a prayer warrior and a fine example to her daughters and son of a life lived for the glory of God.

She is survived by a son David Hutton and wife Robin of Mahaffey, and five daughters, Patricia Wallace and husband William of Frenchville, Kelly McDonald and husband Thomas of Clearfield, Heather Kelly and husband Alan of Frenchville, Stacy Stanley and husband Jack of Nevada, and Heidi Myers and husband Daniel of Erie, 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her late husband Frank Hutton and her younger brother Wayne Lambie.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will follow in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Mahaffey.

Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield is in charge of the arrangements.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Alliance Women of Curwensville PA, 725 Susquehanna Avenue Curwensville, PA 16833 or Clearfield Alliance Christian School Booster Club, 56 Alliance Rd., Clearfield, PA 16830.
