Obituary for Sharon R. McClincy (McClincy)
Sharon R. McClincy, 67, of Clearfield died on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at her home.
She was born on January 6, 1956 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Donald and Betty (Maines) McClincy.
Sharon graduated from Clearfield Area High School, class of 1973. She also graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Psychology. She utilized her psychology degree by serving as a foster parent, counselor and providing care for special needs adults.
She was a lifelong resident of Clearfield, with the exception of a ten year period in Missoula, Montana. Sharon loved spending time with her grandchildren and family members. She also enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques (especially furniture), reading and listening to music. Sharon was very proud of her Irish heritage and had always wanted to visit Ireland. She was Christian by faith.
Sharon will be remembered for her love and generosity and having friends from all walks of life. She took time for everyone and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Cassidy (Aughenbaugh) DeJonge and husband Jacob; three grandchildren, Gavin McClincy, Abram DeJonge, and Margot DeJonge; a sister, Colleen Anderson; a brother, Kevin McClincy and wife Lisa; numerous nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends in the Clearfield area.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Kelly McClincy and Jennifer McClincy; a sister, Linda Gormont; and a brother, Donald W. McClincy.
A graveside service at Dale Cemetery will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 11 AM with Chaplain Gabrielle Kennedy officiating.
