Wardie, I liked you as an umpire, I liked you as a tiler at the Elks and I liked seeing you and talking to you around town. I miss you. God bless you. My sympathy to the family. Bob Fitzmaurice

I'll never forget how much he loved the pool and putting smiles on all the kids faces. He would throw you so high you felt like you would never come down. Wardy is and will always be a legend in Clearfield and has touched so many hearts. Rest easy Wardy

So sad to hear this. Thoughts & prayers going out to everyone because there are so many lives this man has touched. From generation to generation, Wardy was a familiar face you'd see everywhere. What a loss to the community. God definitely has gained an angel.

What a great man we have lost! Wardie was always a great friend to the entire Shirey family, and like many who went through CHS, he was a man for all seasons being my honorary coach for football, basketball, and baseball. One heck of an umpire too! He will be greatly missed, but memories of being around Wardie will live on. Our condolences to the Fink family and to all those who had the privilege of knowing this “one-of-a-kind”. R.I.P Wardie.
