Alberta B. 'Mead' Liegey, 87, of Woodland, died on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Penn Highlands Clearfield.
She was born on August 31, 1929 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Matthew and Edna (Wallace) Maines.
Mrs. Liegey was a housekeeper for many families in the area. She also was employed by Homemakers.
She is survived by four sons, Elmer Leigey III and wife Joy of Ephrata, Larry Leigey and wife Diana of Woodland, David Leigey and wife Paula of Woodland and Jay Leigey and companion Mary English of West Decatur; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; three sisters, Evon Coudriet of Morrisdale, Phyllis Leigey of Weedville and Bernice Welker and husband Jim of Woodland; and a brother, Matthew Maines of Woodland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer C. 'Buddy' Liegey Jr. on January 16, 1993. She was also preceded in death by a great grandson; and two sisters, Ida Evans and Bonnie Hummel.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday at 11 AM. Interment will be in the Gillingham Cemetery, Frenchville.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 4-7 PM and Tuesday from 10-11 AM.
