Anita L. Lansberry, 74, of Clearfield passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville.
She was born on January 28, 1947 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Clyde and Alice (Duck) Lonjin.
Anita was a graduate of Clearfield High School, Class of 1964. She then graduated in 1967 from Williamsport Nursing School and worked as a Registered Nurse at Clearfield Hospital for over 40 years, mostly in Obstetrics, where she served as a charge nurse, being present for the birth of hundreds of babies. When not working or caring for her children, she enjoyed sewing, line dancing, collecting cook books, and reading both fiction and non-fiction books.
After her retirement in 2011, she enjoyed spending summers in Colorado caring for her grandchildren. She also became an avid quilter, producing several quilts and thousands of colorful quilt blocks. She was a die hard baseball fan and also followed the Steelers and other NFL football teams.
Anita was kind, caring and beloved by family, although basically a private person. She was of the Christian faith and a lifelong member of the West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield.
She is survived by her husband, Merle L. 'Sid' Lansberry on April 27, 1968 at West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield; two sons, Brett A. Lansberry of Colorado Springs, CO, and Todd A. Lansberry of Clearfield; two grandchildren, Elise Phoenix Daigle and Alistair Julian Daigle, both of Colorado Springs, CO; a step grandchild, Audrey Hanna Daigle of Colorado Springs, CO; two sisters, Colleen Rowles and husband Jake, and Kathryn Lonjin; five sisters-in-laws; two brothers-in-laws; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim, Raymond, and Russell.
At her request, there will be no public visitation or service. A private family service will be held at a later date.
