Anna Jean Black, 88, of Clearfield died on Monday, November 5, 2012 at the Clearfield Hospital.
She was born on December 9, 1923 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Trood D. and Fay Anna (Hoover) Parker.
Mrs. Black was employed as an Registered Nurse for the Lawrence Township School District as well as the Clearfield Hospital. She graduated from the Clearfield School of Nursing in 1945.
She was a member of The Presbyterian Church, Clearfield for more than 67 years and previously served as a deacon.
She is survived by her son David L. Black and wife Susan of Bel Alton, MD; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John F. 'Ted' Black on August 17, 2005 and whom she wed August 23, 1946 at The Presbyterian Church, Clearfield. She was also preceded in death by two brothers Alfred Trood and Paul W. Parker.
A memorial service will be held at the The Presbyterian Church, Clearfield on Sunday at 2 PM with Rev. J. Robert Mellgard and Mr. Richard Barkley officiating. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to The Presbyterian Church, 119 North Second St., Clearfield.
