Betty L. Whitehill, of Clearfield died on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Knickerbocker Villa, Clearfield.
She was born in Akron, OH, a daughter of the late Harvey L. and Elizabeth (Turner) Whitehill, Sr.
Ms. Whitehill retired as a bookkeeper from Harbison Walker Refractories after 39 years of employment. Prior to that, she worked in the office at Leitzinger Brothers Department Store, Clearfield.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield where she played the organ, sang in the choir and served as a soloist. Ms. Whitehill was also a member of the Community Concert Association, having enjoyed all types of music. She graduated from St. Francis School in 1934.
She is survived by a brother H. Lee Whitehill, Jr. of Pensacola, FL and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Kay Boob and Barbara A. Whitehill.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Monday at 1:30 P.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Monday from
12:00 – 1:00 PM.
