Bobbi (Robin) Pannebaker, of Bigler, PA, went home to be with Jesus on October 28, 2021, and is now part of that great cloud of witnesses. She was 65 years old.
Bobbi was born on February 3, 1956, in Buffalo, New York to the late Harry and Mary Butler. She graduated from Clearfield Area High School in 1974. On October 11, 1975, Bobbi married her soul mate and best friend, Clare L. Pannebaker, at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in Woodland, PA. They just celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary.
Bobbi is survived by her husband, as well as her two daughters, Shannon (Scott) Dixon, of Linden, AL, and Heidi Jo (Steven) Heitsenrether of Woodland, PA.
She is also survived by two grandsons, Cole Heitsenrether and Wyatt Dixon, and two granddaughters, Alexis and Kelsey Dixon, 7 siblings, Michelle (Robert) Palmgren, Valerie (Scott) Read, Tracey (Rich) Bowman, Russell Butler, Tim (Connie) Butler, Shari (Ron) Metz, and Stuart (Cora) Butler, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Russell “Tuffy” and Esther Collar and John and Frances Butler, her infant brother, Ryan, her sister-in-law, Linda, and her infant grandson, Caleb Matthew Hand.
Bobbi did so many things throughout her life. She was one of a 16-member work mission crew that traveled to Sierra Leone, West Africa in 1988 where she helped with Bible School for the area children. Bobbi was co-owner of The Direct Kick Soccer Shop and she was a U-8 soccer coach with her husband. She was a facilitator of Lantern of Hope, a support group for victims of sexual abuse, both at Grace United Methodist Church in Philipsburg and at West Side United Methodist Church in Clearfield.
Bobbi’s calling was caring for children and not just her own. She often cared for her nieces and nephews and the neighbor children. She ran an in-home daycare, volunteered as a teacher’s aide at Bradford Elementary School, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, led Youth Fellowship and was a church camp counselor. She was a preschool aide at both Grace United Methodist Preschool and the Bigler YMCA Preschool. And when grandchildren came along, “Ama” cared for them as well.
Bobbi loved the color purple, she loved flowers, she loved the leaves in the fall, and she loved Dairy Queen blizzards... peanut butter cup with chocolate ice cream. She loved to read and write and she loved music. She loved doing crafts and could quilt, sew, and crochet. But she really liked to buy crafting material and yarn at JoAnn Fabrics. She loved her family and friends. And most of all she loved Jesus and she showed it in everything she did.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Philipsburg, PA, and regularly attended the Ramey United Methodist Charge where her husband is Pastor.
The family would like to thank the staff of AseraCare Hospice, including Melissa, Laurie, and Mandi. They would also like to thank all of Bobbi’s caregivers over the past two years including Sandy, Kathleen, Nora, Letitia, and especially Emily White, who was with Bobbi from the beginning and at the end. They would also like to thank the Bigler community and the Ramey United Methodist Charge community.
Family and friends will be received at Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 4-7 PM and at the Ramey United Methodist Church on Thursday from 9-11 AM. A funeral service to celebrate Bobbi’s life will be held at the Ramey United Methodist Church on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 11 AM with a reception to follow. Reverend Jeffrey Fisher will officiate the ceremony. It will also be livestreamed on the Ramey United Methodist Charge Facebook page. Interment will be private at Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bigler YMCA Preschool Program, 61 Walker Road, Bigler, PA 16825.
