Carol L. Greendoner, 76, of Curwensville, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Carol was born on April 24, 1949, in Clearfield, the daughter of the late Ralph Vernon Woodel and Janet H. (Phillips) Woodel. She was a 1967 graduate of Curwensville Area High School.
Ms. Greendoner is survived by a daughter, Doreen Hoover and husband Michael; six granddaughters, Jonna Garcia and husband Nick, Sami McGarry, Chyna Confer and husband Mason, Autumn Ebersole and husband Shawn, Allison Hoover, and Sarah McGarry; and seven great grandchildren, Lucas, Felix, and Emery Garcia and Owen, Kalee, Max and Hazyn Confer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joanne Coleen Greendoner; the father of her daughters, Kinley A. “Buzzy” Greendoner, Jr. whom she wed in 1968. Even after their divorce, they remained life-long friends. She had siblings, Diane Decker, Janice McGarry, Idella Nancy McQuillen, Ida Larue King, Phyllis Lee McQuillen, Rhea Mae Knepp, and Christopher Woodel. Ms. Greendoner was the last surviving member of her generation.
Carol was a laborer at Berg Electronics and a long-time truck driver for Falcon Transport, a job she found immense joy in as she loved to travel. She was the first person to pull out an atlas and show you the best route to take to any of the 43 states she had visited in her lifetime.
The daughter of a music teacher, Carol embraced music from a very young age. She played the French horn throughout high school and was a member of the Grampian Band. She was also a member of the Clearfield Women’s Dart League.
As the “mayor” of Center St, Carol was loved by her friends and neighbors. She enjoyed decorating for the holidays and displayed dozens of nativities each year. She looked forward to handing out treats to the trick-or-treaters at Halloween.
Carol was a collector of many things and a lover of all animals, but especially her grand-dogs Onyx Elaine, Gunner, Ace, Rex and Myla who will miss her dearly.
Carol was an extraordinary example of a strong, independent woman. She loved strong and without condition. Her granddaughters and great-grandchildren were truly the light of her life. She never missed a life event, holiday, birthday, or “Happy last day of being #” phone call. She absolutely lived for her family. She will be truly missed beyond measure.
A visitation will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 4-6pm with a memorial service to follow at 6pm with Roger McGary officiating.
