Doris J. Barrett Carns, 84, of Curwensville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

She was born January 13, 1942 in Olanta, the daughter of Merrell B. and Bessie J. (Guiher) Barrett.

Doris graduated from Curwensville High School in 1960. She worked as van driver for the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging for almost 30 years, delivering meals and taking clients to appointments starting in 1978 until her retirement.

She was a member of the Curwensville Alliance Church.

Doris loved bowling, going for car rides looking for animals, cooking, and sharing her food and love with her family and friends. Above all, she loved her family dearly.

She is survived by her three children, Ricky Carns and wife Lisa of Wasilla, AK, Brenda Daniel and husband Steven of Curwensville and Brian Carns and wife Stephanie of Tyrone; her grandchildren, Ricky Carns, Shelley Copeland, Stephen Carns, Christopher Daniel, Michael Daniel, Brian Carns Jr., Bethany Gardner, Caitlin Kennedy, Austin Butlin, Anthony Delesio, Jaysa Carns, Colton Beatty, and Tyler Beatty; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald Barrett of DuBois.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Oren 'Carnsie' Carns on January 28, 2017 whom she wed March 2, 1963 in Grampian. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dot Deal; and brother, Richard Barrett.

A funeral service will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 11 AM with Rev. Stephen Shields officiating.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 4 - 7 PM and again on Saturday from 10 - 11 AM.

Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery, Grampian.

The family would like to thank everyone who cared for Doris at Ridgeview and Penn Highlands, and especially Mary, Lisa, Krista, Lisa, and Katie.
