Dorothy L. Quickel

Dorothy L. Quickel, 86, passed away on December 26, 2025, at her residence.

She was born October 5, 1939, the daughter of Raymond and Theona G. (Welch) Derbeque.

Mrs. Quickel grew up in the York area then moved to Clearfield in 1980. She worked as a housekeeper.

Dorothy loved spending time with friends and family, and having fun. She enjoyed making needle point baby blankets, homemade cards, sewing, putting puzzles together, volunteering her time with people in need, or sharing her time with her friends at the high rise.

She will be remembered for her kindness and her laugh, and seeing the positive in everyone. Dorothy always cared about everyone else. She never complained and her smile was contagious.

She is survived by her children, William Eugene Quickel, Donald Quickel, Leonard Quickel, Brian Quickel, Bill Andrew Quickel, Bradley Quickel, and Loretta Bailey; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother, Alfred Derbeque, and a sister, Carol Beard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Quickel on June 12, 2012 and whom she wed in 1966. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Benjamin Travis; a son, Barry Lee Quickel; and two siblings, Leona Latterman, and Ramus Derbeque.

A funeral service will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 12 PM.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 AM - 12 PM.
