Edith Mae David, 96, passed away on December 27, 2020 in Livingston, TX.
Born January 20, 1924 in Faunce. She is survived by her stepdaughters, Doreene Blickenstaff and Darla Sitton; grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy David; her parents; six brothers, Maurice Barrett, Jack Barrett, Merrell Barrett, Harry Barrett, Russell Barrett, and Duane Barrett; and a sister, Clara Wise.
She graduated from Missionary Training Institute in Nyack, NY in 1948 after four years of home service at a camp for Inner City Kids of Patterson, NJ. She served as a missionary with the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Thailand for 36 years where most of her ministry was in youth work camps, youth centers, and part time teacher at the Bangkok Bible College. She retired and returned to the US, then in 1995 she married Roy David, and served with him for three years in the Lake Havas, AZ Christian and Missionary Alliance Church which he was the pastor.
Her husband passed away in 1998. She then moved to Florida and while there, she volunteered one day a week at Holmes Regional Hospital as a patient care representative.
A graveside service will be held at the Mount Zion Cemetery, Olanta on Wednesday at 3 PM with Rev. William C. Mullins officiating.
