Edward Campbell

Edward E. "Hump" Campbell, 87

formerly of Highview Village died on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Christ the King Manor, DuBois.

He was born on July 8, 1923 in Clearfield, a son of the late Earl J. and Helen M. (Moore) Campbell.

A graduate of St. Francis High School, Mr. Campbell retired from the Rural Electric Association.
He attended St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield and was a life member of Clearfield Fire Company #1and a charter member of the Keystone Trailer Travel Club. He was also a member the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6 and the National Campers and Hikers Association.
A veteran of WW II, Mr. Campbell served with the US Army in Africa and Europe.
Hump was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Idabell D. (Fink) Campbell, with whom he recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary, having been married on May 31, 1946 in the rectory of St. Francis Church, Clearfield.

He is further survived by three daughters, Linda and her husband Lex Curry, Jr. of Curwensville, Suzanne and her husband Charles Rumfola, Jr. of Clearfield, Connie and her husband Bill Wetzel, Sr. of Curwensville,

six grandchildren, Ian Curry, Tenley Luzier, Sam Rumfola, Becky Schwartz, Bill Wetzel, Bryan Wetzel

six great grandchildren, Alicen Schwartz, Sydney and Sommer Rumfola, Mark Ifversen, Wyatt and Cole Wetzel,

a sister, Margaret C. ‘Sis’ Bloom and husband Lynn of Grampian

and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Monday at 1:30 P.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts Honor Guard.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Sunday from 2-5:00 PM and on Monday at the funeral home from 12:00-1:00 PM

A Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 2:00 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Christ the King Manor, 1100 W. Long Ave. DuBois.
